Yuzu willingly moved to Splatsville long before the events of the Chaos Vs. Order Splatfest, but still found its already dense population infuriating. Lacking the will to connect to its denizens, her distaste for others only worsened as the city's population grew. Yuzu has a particularly sensitive anger problem, which cultivated in her teen-years as an avid Anarchy Battle player, that hinders her from being approachable and maintaining relationships with others. This issue was briefly remedied when Splatsville's allowed Grizzco Industries to open up shop in the city's center and Yuzu found solace through the intense nature of each shift- so much so that she was able to join a stable team of other employees who strived on routinely pushing themselves to maximum hazard levels. However, the constant battle towards longer and dangerous shifts caused the tumultuous relationship of the group to crack, especially for Yuzu who found it harder and harder to keep her cool after each loss. Eventually the team became a toxic cesspool of arguing and belittlement that hindered any progression and ultimately fell apart, kicking Yuzu back into the lower ranks to deal with inexperienced co-workers that only infuriated her more.
On a particularly uninteresting day full of nothing but team wipes and failure, Yuzu is on her commute home when she crosses paths with Momo- a girl she doesn't know or bothered speaking to. Their initial meeting is nothing notable, but the more times they see each other, the more the other girl talks to her.
Yuzu does little to reciprocate conversation or emotion in hopes that she will eventually be left alone, but as days turn into months she doesn't see an end in sight.
